Episode 031 :: Juan Santoyo :: Effortless Awareness
Juan Santoyo
Juan Santoyo joins us to speak about the paper Effortless awareness: using real time neurofeedback to investigate correlates of posterior cingulate cortex activity in meditators’ self-report.
We talk a lot on this podcast about the scientific research on mindfulness, bringing as guests the authors of some of the most cutting edge work in the field. And, though in its infancy, the discipline of contemplative science using modern technological advances, rigorous scientific methods, and new approaches from related fields has resulted in some promising avenues for exploration. The greatest promise, however, is an outcome of how our new understanding can help those in need.
Juan Santoyo is studying neuroscience and contemplative cognition at Brown University, specializing in grounded theory methodology.
