Episode 099 :: Jennifer Howd :: Sit, Walk, Don’t Talk: How I Survived A Silent Meditation Retreat
Jennifer Howd
Jennifer Howd joins us to speak about her book Sit, Walk, Don’t Talk: How I Survived A Silent Meditation Retreat.
Going on retreat can be one of the most transformative, fun, interesting, and difficult things a meditator may do in their lifetime of contemplative practice. You encounter pain, continuous thoughts, overwhelming emotions, sometimes crushes or aversions to other participants. And, sometimes, moments of insight or even sustained and enduring focus, clarity, and intimate contact with the dynamic process that is you.
Jennifer Howd is a writer, editor, and a mindfulness facilitator certified by the Mindfulness Awareness Research Center (MARC) at the University of California, Los Angeles. She offers mindfulness classes, workshops, retreats, and one-on-one mentoring for individuals and organizations seeking mindfulness-based tools for expanding awareness and fostering a greater sense of well-being.
