Zev Schuman-Olivier joins us to speak about Mindfulness Training for Primary Care.

Mindfulness can be helpful in the reduction of anxiety and depression, as well as other chronic problems where self-management plays an important role. New models that include referrals from primary care providers can greatly enhance a person’s accessibility to beneficial mindfulness programs.

Dr. Zev Schuman-Olivier is the Medical Director, Addictions, Cambridge Health Alliance, an Instructor in Psychiatry, Harvard Medical School, and a board-certified addiction psychiatrist with expertise in opioid use disorder treatment and substance abuse treatment for people with co-occurring disorders. After graduating from Tufts University School of Medicine, he completed psychiatry residency at Harvard Medical School Cambridge Health Alliance, and the HMS addiction psychiatry fellowship. He trained at the Massachusetts General Hospital Addiction Recovery Management Service, specializing in addiction treatment with young adults, and is a member of the Massachusetts Medical Society opioids task force.
