Episode 153 :: Tracy Heilers :: Educating Mindfully: Stories of School Transformation Through Mindfulness

Tracy Heilers

Tracy Heilers speaks about the new book, Educating Mindfully: Stories of School Transformation Through Mindfulness.

While there are many people who would like to include mindfulness in their school systems, interest may outpace the skills to implement it. Having a practice is not the same as teaching others, and subtle but critical aspects may be missed by well intentioned teachers and school administrators. Fortunately, there are resources to help with that process.

Tracy Heilers is founder and executive director of Coalition of Schools Educating Mindfully (COSEM). Since 2003, Tracy has taught yoga and mindfulness to a wide range of student groups. She completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2003, two of Mindful Schools’ online courses in 2016 and a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) training in 2019. She grew up in Dubuque, Iowa and has a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Iowa.
