Episode 081 :: Mark Coleman :: Make Peace with Your Mind: How Mindfulness and Compassion Can Free You from Your Inner Critic
Mark Coleman
Mindfulness teacher Mark Coleman joins us to speak about his book Make Peace with Your Mind: How Mindfulness and Compassion Can Free You from Your Inner Critic.
How many times has that voice inside, that inner critic, spoken louder to you than the people sitting next to you? What does the critic say, and are you curious enough to question whether or not that voice… may not always be accurate in its condemnations? My inner critic is pretty loud, shouting at me even when in my head and heart I know it’s misleading. But it’s there nonetheless, and it’s compelling. Bringing mindfulness to that inner dialogue can help illuminate it with your own wisdom, and keep the shadows as insubstantial shadows.
Mark Coleman is the author of Make Peace with Your Mind and Awake in the Wild. He is the founder of the Mindfulness Institute and has an MA in Clinical Psychology. Mark has guided students on five continents as a corporate consultant, counselor, meditation teacher, and wilderness guide. He lives in Northern California. Special thanks to Kim Corbin for arranging today’s interview.
