Amy Saltzman

Dr. Amy Saltzman joins us to speak about A Still Quiet Place for Teens: A Mindfulness Workbook to Ease Stress and Difficult Emotions.

If memory serves, being a teenager can be kinda challenging. Going through that may occur before one is introduced to any kind of contemplative practice, but more and more, a younger generation is being given the gift of mindfulness.

Amy Saltzman, MD, is a holistic physician, mindfulness coach, scientist, wife, mother, devoted student of transformation, longtime athlete, and occasional poet. Her passion is supporting people of all ages in enhancing their well-being and discovering A Still Quiet Place within. She is founder and director of the Association for Mindfulness in Education, an inaugural and longstanding member of the steering committee for the Mindfulness in Education Network, and a founding member of the Northern California Advisory Committee on Mindfulness. Amy has offered mindfulness to young people from pre-K to college undergrads in socioeconomically diverse school and community settings, and conducted two research studies evaluating the benefits of teaching mindfulness to child-parent pairs and to children in low-income elementary schools. These research projects were conducted in collaboration with the Department of Psychology at Stanford University. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and two teenaged children.
