Dr. Sam Himelstein

Dr. Sam Himelstein joins us again to speak about his new book, Mindfulness-Based Substance Abuse Treatment for Adolescents: A 12 Session Curriculum.

Working with at risk youth has some unique requirements for mindfulness teachers and clinicians. It involves not only having your own deep practice, and being authentic with those you serve, but also an understanding of what structure may be most effective at helping adolescents deal with their substance abuse.

Sam Himelstein, PhD, is a licensed psychologist in the state of California and a Behavioral Health Clinician at the Alameda County Juvenile Justice Center. Sam has dedicated his career to working with high-risk and incarcerated adolescents.
